The following letters are drawn from the Robert H. Michel Papers located at The Dirksen Congressional Center. As Republican Leader of the House of Representatives, Michel received scores of requests from fellow Members to serve on committees of special interest to them. The six letters below were written in December 1980 as plans were laid for organizing the 97th Congress.
